The Philadelphia Eagles have released their second injury report in preparation of their Week 6 game against the New York Giants.
As noted earlier on Thursday, starting inside linebacker DeMeco Ryans returned to practice. Ryans was listed as a limited participant, but he said he expects to play this week. The veteran linebacker has been dealing with a groin injury suffered in Week 5. It appears Ryans will be less than 100% if he does play. Ryans has only missed 12 career games and those came following a season-ending achilles injury in 2010.
Ryans just did positional stuff, no 11-on-11s, but sentiment is that he'll play. Said one teammate: "He's nuts in the head like that."

Fellow starting inside linebacker Mychal Kendricks still has not returned to practice. Kendricks will likely miss Sunday's game at this rate. The third-year linebacker has been out since Week 2 due to a calf injury.
The combination of backup linebackers Casey Matthews, Emmanuel Acho, and Marcus Smith II will fill in for Kendricks and/or Ryans. Matthews will wear the helmet with the headset if Ryans can't go.
Third string running back and kick returner Chris Polk did not practice yet again. Polk will likely be replaced by rookie wide receiver Josh Huff on kickoff returns. Tight end Trey Burton may serve as the team's third string running back behind LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles.
Depth wide receiver and special teams contributor Brad Smith suffered a core muscle injury and underwent surgery on Thursday. Smith will be out for a couple of weeks. Smith's absence means Jeff Maehl will likely return to the active game-day roster.
