Eagles sign Brandon Hepburn to complete practice squad

The Eagles have brought back linebacker Brandon Hepburn in order to fill out their 10-man practice squad.

The Philadelphia Eagles have brought back linebacker Brandon Hepburn on a practice squad contract. Philadelphia's practice squad now stands full at the 10-man limit.

Hepburn originally joined the Eagles practice squad in early September following the promotion of linebacker Emmanuel Acho to the 53-man roster. Hepburn remained on the practice until early last week when he was waived in favor of former Eagles linebacker Jake Knott. Knott, who had just finished serving a four-game suspension, suffered MCL and PCL tears late last week. The Eagles waived Knott with an injury settlement. With Knott gone, Hepburn is back.

The Eagles have been unlucky with linebackers injuries this season. First inside linebacker off the bench and special teams contributor Najee Goode suffered a season-ending pectoral injury in Week 1. Travis Long suffered a season-ending ACL injury in late August. Jason Phillips never appeared to fully recover from a torn ACL in 2013. The aforementioned Knott suffered a hamstring injury in early August and now will miss significant time due to a torn MCL and PCL.

Even the Eagles current linebackers are banged up. DeMeco Ryans left the team's Week 5 game against the Rams with a groin injury. Ryans missed the team's practice on Tuesday but said he does expect to play against the Giants. Fellow starting inside linebacker Mychal Kendricks has been out since Week 2 due to a calf injury. Kendricks might be close to a return but as of now it doesn't seem like he will return until following Philadelphia's Week 7 bye.

Here's what the Eagles practice squad looks like now that it has reached the 10-man limit. Keep in mind that the team released practice squad wide receiver Cobi Hamilton in favor of safety Jordan Kovacs on Monday.

Eagles practice squad:

QB G.J. Kinne
RB Matthew Tucker
S Ed Reynolds II
WR Will Murphy
NT Wade Keliikipi
WR Quron Pratt
G/C Josh Andrews
OT Kevin Graf
S Jordan Kovacs
LB Brandon Hepburn
