The Philadelphia Eagles have made a few changes to their practice squad.
Wide receiver Cobi Hamilton has been released. Hamilton originally joined the team in early September. The Eagles still have two other wide receivers on their practice squad: former Oregon Ducks player Will Murphy and undrafted rookie free agent Quron Pratt. Philadelphia also employs six wide receivers on the active 53-man roster: Jeremy Maclin, Riley Cooper, Jordan Matthews, Josh Huff, Brad Smith, and Jeff Maehl. That's a total of eight wide receivers for practice purposes.
The Eagles also announced the signing of safety Jordan Kovacs to a practice squad contract. Kovacs, 24, measures in at 6-0, 195 lbs. Kovacs played college football for Michigan. In four years as a member of the Wolverines, Kovacs played in 50 games and recorded 334 total tackles, 26 tackles for loss, 7 sacks, 5 interceptions, 9 passes defensed, and 6 forced fumbles. The Miami Dolphins signed Kovacs as an undrafted free agent in 2013. Kovacs earned a spot on Miami's practice squad before being calling up to the active roster in Week 5. Kovacs contributed on special teams with 3 tackles and 3 assists in 8 games played.
Due to the release of linebacker Jake Knott late last week, there is still one open spot remaining on Philadelphia's practice squad.
