Let's get to the links...
Unwritten - Iggles Blitz
Let’s talk about a team. Got off to a 3-1 start. Beat a pair of AFC teams. Beat an NFC East rival in a close game. The early loss was on the road against an NFC West team. Had to deal with some OL injuries. So who is this? The 2014 Eagles. And the 2012 Eagles.
Fan-Demonium: Time To Run - PE.com
LeSean McCoy wants to run the ball. Chip Kelly wants to run the ball. Nick Foles wants to run the ball. Eagles fans are ready for the running game to get going. This could finally be the week that happens. Maybe. Hopefully.
Birds' special teams have really been special - Philly.com
Backups, third-stringers, and hangers-on don't make NFL rosters. Not on the way in, anyway. Players who reach this level have usually been stars their whole lives, the pride of the neighborhood, the best guys on whatever teams they happened to play for. They are all alpha dog competitors who climbed the pyramid through high school and college and got to the best league in the world because that is where they belong. And then it gets a little different for some of them.
Players keep faith in Kelly to fix offense - Inquirer
The phrase Change doesn't happen overnight wasn't coined by Chip Kelly, but he would probably nod in approval to the rest of Mary E. Pearson's axiom that change is molded by people who don't give up. The coach was asked several times during the last week about changes he might implement in light of the worst offensive performance the Eagles have had under his stewardship, and Kelly's answers each time were relatively the same.
Ertz Calls On Peters For Run Blocking Help - Birds 24/7
The same scene played out after every practice this week. While the rest of the Eagles were stretching, Jason Peters and Zach Ertz stood off to the side. They would line up across from each other, fire off the ball, and Ertz would try to block Peters, who was playing the role of a defensive end or a linebacker. Afterwards, Peters would offer some instruction, and they would do it again.
Foles is fifth in the NFL in passing yards. But in three of four games, his passer rating has been below 100. That only happened twice last season. And you already know that he has six giveaways (four interceptions, two fumbles), which is two more than he had all of last year.
The Dallas Cowboys rode DeMarco Murray and a more balanced offensive approach to a 3-1 start. Can the Cowboys keep winning like this?
