BGN Radio is teaming up with Tony Bruno and Crossing Broad

Welcome to the Liberty Broadcast Co.

Elsa

I'm interrupting our regularly scheduled Philadelphia Eagles coverage here at Bleeding Green Nation to bring you a bit of site news. The Bleeding Green Nation podcast, BGN Radio, is now officially one year old. It's been a great year and here's looking forward to many to come. To give you an idea of the podcast's growth in just one year, the first episode recorded 254 listens. The most recent episode (#57) is currently near 5,800 listens. That's amazing.

In even more important news, however, we have a special announcement to make. I'll turn it over to BGN Radio host John Barchard for more details:

Big news for BGN Radio!

Today we are pleased to formally announce that we will be combining our forces with legendary radio host Tony Bruno & Kyle Scott from CrossingBroad.com to form www.LibertyBroadcast.co! Liberty Broadcast is a podcast network that will be a new alternative to your current local sports radio. Our hope is to build this from the ground up, add more quality programming and make sure you have something to listen to everyday!

First and foremost, we all want to thank the entire Bleeding Green Nation for giving us all the support this past year. Without every single one of you, there is no way we have this kind of opportunity to expand on what we are doing. We really want you guys involved as much as possible in this process. What do you want more of? What do you want less of? What's currently missing for you when you listen to us? What's missing when you listen to general sports radio talk? Feel free to let us know in the thread, by email, by plane or pigeon. This podcast network is for you and we want you to have as much say as possible. I cannot tell you enough how amazing this Eagles community is, no matter what kind of disagreements we all have, everyone on BGN brings a great amount of knowledge with their fandom. Thank you again BGN, everyday I am truly humbled by the amount of awesomeness that you provide for us.

Secondly, if told us that we would be able to work right along side Tony Bruno & Kyle Scott a year ago... I would have laughed at you. Tony is still one of my favorite radio personalities of all time. His energy and his ability to make you laugh while still being able to center everything around sports is such a hard thing to do and yet he makes it looks so easy. I was very disappointed that he left the airwaves but so happy for him that he is steering is own ship and doing his own thing. It's very inspiring and now even more exciting that we will be working with him.

I wasn't really sure what Kyle Scott was all about when I first started visiting CrossingBroad.com. But what I found was the perfect melting pot for all things in and around Philly sports. One of Kyle's biggest strengths is to get be people to open up so candidly about anything. It's his gift and that's what his podcast Crossing Streams is all about. I urge you to start with the episode featuring WIP's Glen Macnow and work your way up to Tony Bruno & most recently with BGN's Mark Saltveit. This is what long-form podcasting is all about: interesting people and topics and then before you know it, it's the end of the show and you're already asking for more.

Third, if Mike Kaye and Brandon Lee Gowton would have turned down my interview request almost two years ago on a podcast that no one listened to... BGN Radio would cease to exist. I give all the credit in the world to these two guys. They made the call to put this together and put the faith in myself, James Seltzer, Patrick Wall, Dan Klausner, Matt Dering & Tony Casale to grow this into what it is today. BLG & Mike have expanded on what was left for them and have really created something special not only with BGN Radio but with everything that gets posted on this site.

Once again, thank you BGN for all the support that you have given us this past year. This doesn't happen without you and we will be continually trying to improve everything about the show with your help. Come join us over at www.LibertyBroadcast.co!

Of course, I would be remiss not to mention all the hard work that John does for the podcast as well. Without him, there is no BGN Radio, and I don't say that lightly.

So the short version here is that there's now a new outlet called Liberty Broadcast Co. where you can listen to BGN Radio along with other quality Philly sports talk. Other than that, not much is changing. The BGN Radio shows will remain the same (early week game review show, mid-week fantasy football episode, late-week game preview) and the episodes will still be regularly posted on BGN.

Thanks again for all of your support!
