‘I Have Nothing To Explain To Anybody’ - Birds 24/7
With so many questioning the way in which the Eagles got to 5-1, Kelly was asked for his explanation. "We don't have to explain," he said. "You are what you are. I don't care. I have nothing to explain to anybody. I don't worry about that. I don't go in after a game and say, 'OK, let's come up with [something to] to tell the reason why.' It's, we're 5-1, that's it. You don't have to explain it to anybody. Your record is what it is. You look at the standings and that's your record. We don't pay attention to it. There's noise out there that when you spend time on it, you're wasting time that you should be devoting towards developing a game plan for the Arizona Cardinals."
Finally, version of Eagles we expected all along - CSN Philly
The Eagles struggled at times in those first five games, but what we saw in the sixth outing was what they kept telling us they knew they could be. They weren’t just good. They were excellent. They were the version of the Eagles we waited for all season, the version that looked like the class of the NFC East. And maybe the conference. And maybe more. They looked like a team that could beat just about anyone on any evening.
Grading the Eagles: Brent Celek a stud; David Molk sound; Fletcher Cox delivers again - Inquirer
Brent Celek might have been the Eagles’ offensive MVP. He did stellar work as a run blocker and pass protector. He had a lead block on McCoy’s 12-yard carry in the first. He sealed Pierre-Paul off on McCoy’s 18-yard run late in the first. He held off a pass-rushing Pierre-Paul when Foles had ample time in the pocket and hit Matthews for 26 yards. Celek also had his best pass-catching game of the year. He pulled in five passes for 45 yards including a 24-yard grab.
Eagles coach Chip Kelly praises fans for growing home-field advantage - Philly.com
"I’ll tell you what, one thing our team loves is playing at home," Kelly said. "We started out last year not very good at home. But winning eight straight there's a direct result of what type of atmosphere our people have created at the Linc." Clearly, during the the game, crowd noise created problems for quarterback Eli Manning in calling out signals his offensive teammates could hear, broadcasters and reporters have widely noted.
The Eagles: Vindicated Forever - The 700 Level
I have it on good authority from a buddy of mine who works at the Linc that immediately prior to Sunday night's game against the Giants, Nick Foles stood in the tunnel, tossed back three shots, screamed "fu-- Buzz Bissinger!" and then charged out onto the field, hungry for battle, for victory and for vindication.
Bye Time: State Of The Eagles At 5-1 - PE.com
And now they rest. Players scattered early on Monday morning upon completion of the Eagles' team photo and position meetings, free to enjoy the bye week. What have the Eagles accomplished and where are they headed as we pause six games deep into the regular season? ...
