It's no secret that head coach Chip Kelly is really happy with the Philadelphia Eagles' 27-0 victory over the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football. (Just check out that smile!) Kelly's joy was even more apparent in his weekly day-after press conference.
As Kelly noted on Sunday night, the Eagles were set to take a team photograph on Monday morning. According to Kelly, that photo went really well. Kelly elaborated on this during his Monday media session.
We had to get a good photo, which was first and foremost. It took us 4 minutes and 40 seconds. We got everybody: the entire team, every position group, the coaches, and the training staff done in 4 minutes and 40 seconds. It was the most -- literally, I'm not even joking -- it was the most efficient photo I've ever seen our guys work. They were dressed, there were guys dressed in full uniform when we had our meeting at 9:30. They were just ready to go. They knew what we wanted to get done. We started at 10, I looked at my watch at 10:04:40 and we were done everything which was awesome.
It was tempo. It was as good a tempo and I would challenge anybody. And I'm talking, we got our team photo done, we got individual position coaches and players done at their positions, we got our coaching staff photo done, we got our training staff photo done in 4 minutes and 40 seconds. It was awesome.
[The cameras] were set. Everything was going except we had to coach the photographers a little bit because they wanted to get a little bit… one of the guys thought he was Ansel Adams. Let's get this thing taken and let's go. You know what I mean? It's not like it's gonna be hanging in the Philadelphia Museum Art or anything, it's just gonna be in someone's office somewhere, so let's get it done.
Of course, this should not come as a surprise. Kelly has no time for superfluous activities. He's an efficiency-preaching taskmaster. Look no further than the tempo of Philadelphia's practices as well as their in-game offensive dynamic.
Time and time again Kelly proves that he has no shortage of personality. Funny guy.
