Into the Wild - Iggles Blitz
As I wrote about in the preview, it looked to me like Eli had a clean pocket and tons of time last week. That will not be the case on Sunday night. Bill Davis will blitz and do whatever it takes to get some pressure. That doesn’t mean the Eagles will have a bunch of sacks. Eli is masterful at getting rid of the ball at the last minute to avoid the sack. I do think the Eagles will pressure him. The OLBs were good last week. Another showing like that would be a huge help on Sunday night. Fletcher Cox was a bit quiet against the Rams. He needs to have more impact this week.
The Matchup: Eagles Vs. Giants - Birds 24/7
The ground game improved last week as the Birds totaled 145 yards on 33 carries against the Rams. LeSean McCoy had 24 for 81, and Darren Sproles had seven for 51. The Giants have been OK against the run. They rank 13th according to Football Outsiders and are allowing 4.1 YPC. But last season, New York had a great game plan for the Eagles' rushing attack and limited McCoy to 94 yards on 35 carries (2.7 YPC). Keep in mind, that was with a healthy offensive line and McCoy on top of his game. On the flip side, the Eagles suffered injuries to their starting QBs in both contests against the Giants.
How many QBs could put up better numbers than Nick Foles if they played for Chip Kelly, Eagles? - NJ.com
As Foles fights to really cement his place as the franchise quarterback of this team, his biggest gift and curse is Kelly. On one hand, Kelly allows Foles to be in a system where he has a ton of weapons at his disposal, and a coach some consider an offensive genius calling the plays. Foles is set up to succeed like few other quarterbacks are.
Fan-Demonium: Expect The Unexpected - PE.com
When the Eagles and Giants meet, expect the unexpected. Wait, if you expect it, how can it be unexpected? That's the kind of philosophical question that Bo Wulf should discuss with players in a future edition of the Wulf's Den. For now, we'll just stick with the point that strange things happen when the Eagles and Giants play.
Eagles-Giants: 5 things to focus on - CSN Philly
Oh man. For a 4-1 team, the Eagles sure have a lot of questions. The quarterback might be the biggest of the lot. He went 24 for 37 for 207 yards, two touchdowns and an interception against the Rams. Those are pretty pedestrian numbers. That’s back-to-back games where Foles failed to throw for more than 300 yards.
Eagles' Parkey the latest of a crop of kickers from Jupiter, Fla. - Inquirer
Parkey, the baby-faced 22-year-old who has quickly turned an Eagles position of doubt into an afterthought, is one in a long line of kickers from his hometown. In the 30 years Charlie Persson led Jupiter High's football program, seven Division I kickers passed through. That doesn't even include Carney, three times an All-Pro, who attended a nearby high school.
Eagles debut all-black uniforms - Daily News
Other than the one black-jersey win, the Eagles are 4-5 vs. the Giants since 2003 with green jerseys and 10-4 with white jerseys.
