Eagles Kicker Alex Henery fined $15,750 for horse collar tackle vs. Chiefs

Kickers get fined, too.

Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports

According to a report, Alex Henery has been hit with a fine for a horse collar tackle on Quentin Demps during the Eagles-Chiefs Thursday Night Football game. Yeah, that's right. A kicker has been fined!

The play occurred on a kickoff return by (former Eagle) Quentin Demps. Demps broke through the Eagles' return coverage and Henery couldn't help but bring him down with an illegal tackle.

The fine is for $15,750, which is about 2.84% of Henery's $550,000 base salary.

Alex Henery has faced scrutiny due to some missed field goals in the first three games of the 2013 season. He's made 5 on 7 attempts, but he's only 2 for 4 (50%) on kicks between 40-49 yards. So far, he hasn't attempted a 50+ yarder.
