How Eagles coach Chip Kelly used New Hampshire as his laboratory to create one of football's most prolific offenses.

Detailed Game Review – KC 26, PHI 16 - Tommy Lawlor, Iggles Blitz
Ugly, sloppy game. Thursday night games can bring out the best and worst in teams. Remember Thanksgiving night 2008? The Cardinals played at the Eagles. The final score was 48-20. And it wasn’t that close. The Eagles looked great. The Cardinals were a mess. About 8 weeks later the teams met in the NFC title game and the Cards won. Some teams are well-prepared and thrive on the short week. Others look discombobulated and play sloppy football. That certainly would describe the Eagles from last Thursday’s game.

Eagles Reveal Keys To Peyton Manning - Danta Klaus, PE.com
The last time the Eagles faced Peyton Manning was in 2010, during what proved to be his final season as the starting quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts. The defense deployed a variety of exotic blitz and coverage packages to confuse Manning and get him off his game. It worked.

Defensive Adjustments: The Limits of Creativity - Brent Cohen, EaglesRewind
Three games into the season, we have a pretty good idea of the relative strengths and weaknesses of the 2013 Eagles. At least I do; it seems many others are confused. Let me be clear: If you are at all concerned/worried/disappointed with the Offense, you’re not watching the same games I am. As I explained last week, the Eagles, in their last game, gave us a pretty clear example of what the offense’s "scoring floor" is. I won’t address it any further today, but let’s just say that 16 points is a pretty good "reasonable worst-case scenario". Considering the turnovers and the skill of the opposing defense (Chiefs), I’m confident that’s what we saw, or at least close to it.

The Philadelphia Eagle/Oregon IZR Variation - Adam Dawkins, Fishduck.com
It’s difficult to say exactly, when it is so early in the season. One of the core philosophies behind the Kelly offense is to be able to do several things with the same formation and play. In this instance the trips on the backside of the play are set up for a bubble screen, but you’d expect there’s a deep passing play tucked away in there too, and maybe that’s why Peters is pass protecting? One option, as I’ve diagrammed, is that Vick could be reading a different player such as the middle linebacker since it IS something that Kelly did at Oregon on occasion. Maybe it’s a pre-snap read of the formation and the handoff occurs regardless?

Crash Course: Eagles Begin Prep For Manning - Sheil Kapadia, Birds 24/7
Added Williams: "We tried to show him different things. We tried to give him different looks. We tried to not give him an easy read on a lot of things. He’s gonna come up there. He’s gonna do his show, and he’s gonna try to get you to show what you’re doing. The thing is you’ve gotta try to stay as calm as possible in those situations and don’t give him anything. He can look at a stance. He can look at your eyes and tell if you’re coming. He’s been around the game so long, it’s tough to figure this guy out. You never know what’s gonna happen."

Eagles will face better-than-ever Peyton Manning - Reuben Frank, CSN Philly
Peyton Manning is off to the hottest start of any quarterback in NFL history, and the numbers simply defy belief. He’s throwing for nearly 400 yards a game, he has an NFL-record 12 touchdowns after three games, he hasn’t thrown an interception and he’s putting up more than 40 points per game.

Why aren’t the Eagles trading for [Player Z from Mars]? - Andrew Kulp, The700Level
This is a great question!

Week 4 NFL Power Rankings – Still 7 Teams Undefeated - FanSpeak
18. Philadelphia Eagles (Last Week #17): The Eagles hosted their former coach Andy Reid and lost on Thursday night. The Eagles had way too many turnovers (and there could have been more that were dropped or called back). They have a lot of talent (see McCoy, LeSean), but they have got to eliminate the mental mistakes. It doesn’t get easier this week as they face the league’s toughest team, the Denver Broncos.
