Eagles' cornerback Bradley Fletcher medically cleared from concussion

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Well, in a story that could have been more useful one day ago, Eagles' cornerback Bradley Fletcher has been medically cleared to play in Week 3. Fletcher missed Week 2 with a concussion that he received in the first game of the seasons. While Brandon Boykin filled in for Fletcher on the outside, the nickel spot was vulnerable due to a lack of talent and depth. Chargers' slot receiver Eddie Royal caught seven balls for 90 yards and three touchdowns on Sunday.

Fletcher's return is welcomed news as the Eagles will play the Chiefs on Thursday. Kansas City quarterback Alex Smith has been able to get the ball to his offensive weapons with relative ease, so the Eagles will need all the help they can get in the secondary. Fletcher will practice Monday and will start opposite Cary Williams in the Week 3 matchup.

The Eagles will host the Chiefs on Thursday Night Football at 8:25 p.m. on NFL Network and 6ABC.
