Several Eagles' final cuts get claimed off of waivers

The Eagles waived several talented young players on Saturday and now some of those players have new homes. While the Eagles added four players to their practice squad on Sunday, it is likely that they missed out on placing a few other options as they were claimed off of waivers by other teams. As of now, four former Eagles have been awarded off of waivers to teams across the NFL.

The Jacksonville Jaguars double-dipped on former Eagles during the waiver process, just eight days after playing Philadelphia at home. The Jaguars acquired linebacker Chris McCoy and tight end Clay Harbor through waivers. Harbor will serve as the backup to former Pro Bowl tight end Mercedes Lewis, while Chris McCoy will play the Leo position behind former Eagles defensive end Jason Babin. Being acquired by the Jaguars was probably the best scenario for both players, as they are likely to see a lot of playing time this season. Harbor will be a free agent next summer. McCoy was likely a practice squad target for the Eagles.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced that they have been awarded wide receiver/gunner Russell Shepard off of waivers. The former LSU Tiger failed to make the Eagles' squad despite showing a knack for special teams and showing flashes on offense. He will likely serve as a backup kick-returner or a gunner for Tampa Bay.

Temple alum Adrian Robinson was claimed by the Denver Broncos, just two weeks after being acquired by the Eagles in a trade that sent Felix Jones to Pittsburgh. The 23-year old linebacker only played in one preseason game for Philadelphia and wasn't likely to make the roster. He didn't have practice squad eligibility as he played 14 games with the Steelers as a rookie. His job in Denver will likely be on special teams.
