10 random observations from Eagles-Jets - Jimmy Kempski, Philly.com
Danny Watkins is in deep trouble. I think his reign with the Eagles is over. Casey Matthews had a bad game, but the coaching staff will look at his entire body of work through camp and the preseason. I think he sticks.

More Roster Talk - Tommy Lawlor
Some of you want to know about Ifeanyi Momah and whether he should be a candidate for the practice squad. If we’re going on what we saw this summer, no. If we’re looking at size/speed/potential, yes. As outsiders, we are sorta lost on this situation. The key here is what the coaches think of Momah. Can he get better? Is he driven to do everything he can to get better? Does his size/speed translate to the NFL? Just because you work out well doesn’t mean you’ll play like that.

53 man final roster projections [McManus] and [Kapadia] - Birds 24/7
These are solid projections.

Kurt Coleman Plays Cornerback, Actually Holds His Own, and Rex Ryan Approves - Andrew Kulp, The700Level
Not that it matters a ton. Coleman’s ability to play corner in preseason game four is nice, but it won’t have any bearing on whether or not Chip Kelly decides to carry him on the roster, contrary to some opinions. No, it won’t hurt, but the fact that Coleman is undoubtedly the Eagles’ most reliable backup safety while also contributing on an improved special teams unit is probably a bigger sell.

End could be near for 1st-round bust Watkins - Reuben Frank, CSN Philly
Are we about to add Danny Watkins’ name to the Eagles’ first-round scrap heap? Sure sounds likely. Watkins, the aging firefighter-turned-offensive lineman, does not appear likely to survive this weekend’s final cuts, at least judging from coach Chip Kelly’s lukewarm comments about Watkins Thursday night.

The Super Bowl coach you almost had - Celebrity Hot Tub, SBN NFL
Chip Kelly, Philadelphia - It's very hard to win a Super Bowl when you've never coached, not even as an assistant, in the NFL. And that's why the Eagles just might run the table this year. (Please do not link to this column when Philly is 3-8 and Matt Barkley is the starter.)
