Philadelphia Eagles Training Camp 2013 Notes & Quotes - Monday 8/26/2013 - Brandon Lee Gowton, BGN
My notes from the last Eagles training camp practice!

Michael Vick is still holding onto the ball far too long - Jimmy Kempski, Philly.com
While that is certainly a major determining factor on how long a QB holds onto the ball, the bottom line is that Michael Vick held onto the ball for an eternity against the Jaguars. In fact, he held onto the ball longer in Jacksonville than he had in any game last season.

Eagles Notebook - Tommy Lawlor, Iggles Blitz
Tommy tackles a number of subjects including is it worth trading Bryce Brown or Nick Foles?

Chip Kelly: Oregon vs. Philadelphia Practice Methods - Mark Saltveit, Iggles Blitz
One thing we know is that Chipper believes in continual improvement. He’s always looking for ways to tweak and refine his methods, including the ways he runs his practice, so we can expect changes. But the basics of his approach have stayed the same from his first year as Offensive Coordinator at Oregon, when Dennis Dixon played for him as a senior, to today – the fast pace, loud music, short teaching and drill segments, and maximizing the number of reps.

Eagles-Jaguars Game Review: The Offense - Sheil Kapadia, Birds 24/7
* Evan Mathis’ performance was shakier than usual. He had trouble with Tyson Alualu on third down during the first series and was later called for holding on 3rd-and-8, negating an 18-yard completion to Celek. Mathis got beat by Jeremy Mincey in the first and then again by Sen’Derrick Marks, who put a big hit on Vick. As we showed earlier in the week, he and Jason Kelce had an issue with a stunt and gave up a sack. Mathis was better in the run game. He threw a defender to the ground on Brown’s 5-yard run in the second. Nothing to panic about, but he did not play particularly well.

ReFo: PHI @ JAX, Preseason WK3 - John Maney, ProFootballFocus
During his entire rookie season, Vinny Curry saw the field in only a handful of games, playing 89 snaps in total. He’ll surpass that number in the first quarter of the upcoming season if he can sustain the level of play he’s shown this preseason. Through three games, the second year DE has graded at +9.2, and has only been negatively graded on a single play. He took over in the third quarter of Saturday’s game, as on three consecutive plays (starting at 10:11) he beat Uche Nwaneri for a pressure and hit, followed by a clean-up sack as Chad Henne attempted to escape the pocket. Later in the quarter, Curry forced a fumble after standing up his blocker.

Patriots, Eagles among NFL teams picking up pace on offense - Bucky Brooks, NFL.com
This preseason, I've seen more teams take advantage of the diversity of "11" and "12" groupings. Chip Kelly's Philadelphia Eagles, in particular, have seamlessly transitioned between the packages in their no-huddle offense. The screengrabs below display a sequence of plays from the Eagles' opening drive against the Carolina Panthers in Week 2 of the preseason. As you can see, the Eagles stay in their "12" personnel package, with rookie Zach Ertz aligning in various spots as the "move" tight end:
