Eagles cut 11 players, including Kenny Phillips - JimmyK, BGN
Missing you, Derek Carrier.
Pictorial: Vinny Curry lives in the backfield - JimmyKempski, Philly.com
A couple weeks ago, Vinny Curry was dominant against the Patriots. What stood out to me was his explosive first step, which I showed with analysis. Curry has continued to be awesome, and I'm not even sure analysis is necessary this time around.
Roster Perspective - Tommy Lawlor, Iggles Blitz
I would prefer that Roseman and Kelly err on the side of youth. I don’t see the Eagles as a Super Bowl contender this year so let’s focus on finding young players that might be a solution in the future as much as now. They might not, but this is the year to take some chances. You want to build up some youth and see if players pan out.
Lions of Interest? - Tommy Lawlor, EaglesBlog.net
The Lions cut veteran Safety Chris Hope. He isn’t as good of a STs player as some other guys on their roster so they felt he wasn’t worth keeping around as a backup. Hope is a tough, physical player. He played all 16 games last year, but was just a backup for them. He’ll turn 33 in 5 weeks.
No-22: What We Saw From the Eagles’ Offense - Sheil Kapadia, Birds 24/7
Fantastic work as always by Sheil. -- The Eagles’ first-team offense had eight possessions Saturday night against the Jaguars. The results? A touchdown, three field goals, two punts and two turnovers. Not disastrous, but certainly a bit choppy. Here’s the No-22 breakdown of some of the things we saw after re-watching.
Cut LB Jamar Chaney failed to improve - Geoff Mosher, CSN Philly
Chaney, seventh-round pick in 2010, is the sixth player from the ‘10 draft no longer with the team. The Eagles selected 13 players that year. Several others from that draft, including cornerback Trevard Lindley, tight end Clay Harbor and safeties Nate Allen and Kurt Coleman, are in jeopardy of not making the team. Lindley has already been cut and re-signed multiple times by the team.
Four Downs: Chaney adds special element to Eagles - Brian Baldinger, NFL.com
Old article in honor of Jamar Chaney's legacy. Never forget. "Jamar Chaney is already one of the best MLBs in the league after his first start."
Kevin Kolb concussion could be career threatening, per report - Buffalo Rumblings
This isn't good.
