Preseason Game Recap: Philadelphia Eagles beat Carolina Panthers, 14-9 - Brandon Lee Gowton, BGN
My recap of last night's game. See how the QBs fared, and why no one feared Cary Williams.

Eagles vs Panthers initial thoughts: A lot of encouraging signs from the Birds - JimmyK,
Michael Vick may have put this QB competition to bed tonight, after going 9 for 9, before throwing a meaningless interception at the end of the first half. Vick has thrown a grand total of 2 incompletions in the preseason, and has basically come out and taken command of the Eagles' starting QB job. Chip Kelly was once again non-committal after the game tonight, but we're nearing the point where Vick has begun to pull away.

Round 2: Mike Vick Vs. Nick Foles - Tim McManus, Birds 24/7
Vick has been very sharp so far this preseason. It’s difficult to find much to complain about with his game to date, and his only turnover was on a jump ball at the end of the half. Foles has been pretty good at times, but has turned the ball over twice in four drives. Vick has been the better quarterback in both games.

Eagles Win!!! Eagles Win!!! - Sir Thomas Lawlor, Iggles Blitz
Mike Vick had another great game. He threw the ball well and finally started running. My one concern with him is that Vick took a couple of shots when he was running and he got up slowly after the second one. He failed to slide on the one run, choosing instead to dive. That will drive Chip Kelly nuts. The other run he was trying to score so contact was inevitable. I’ll write more about the QBs this weekend, but Vick should be the leader right now.

Watching a Modern Offense: Packaged Plays - Derek Sarley, Iggles Blog
The Eagles ran a play tonight we've been expecting to see since the moment they hired Kelly. And it was beautiful.

Instant Analysis: Vick deserves to be starting QB - Reuben Frank, CSN Philly
Nick Foles hasn’t been bad at all this preseason. He’s been accurate, he’s made mainly smart decisions and he’s moved the offense fairly effectively. It’s clear he can play in the NFL. It’s clear he’s a pro quarterback. Just not now. Not here. Not yet. We’ve seen enough. Michael Vick has earned the job.

Vick pulls ahead of Foles as Eagles beat Panthers - Zach Berman, Inquirer
When Vick entered the game in the second quarter, the 33-year-old surpassed even last week's sterling performance. He connected on his first nine passes, and aside from a Hail Mary that was intercepted as the first-half clock expired, his performance was flawless.

Cary Williams shaky in preseason debut for Eagles - Eliot Shorr-Parks,
After missing most of training camp and the Eagles first preseason game with a hamstring injury, Cary Williams was in the starting lineup against the Carolina Panthers on Thursday. The results might have him wishing he would have waited just a bit little longer.

Not actually a video, but I think you'll enjoy it anyway.
