Former Eagles in the news: Stewart Bradley and Moise Fokou fighting for starting jobs

While the trade of Jeff Maehl and the signing of a new long-snapper have been the highlights of the Eagles' week in the news, several former Eagles' players are making their own headlines. From the little running back that could be a solid weapon for Cleveland to a linebacker who has been cut by Andy Reid on two different teams signing with a new squad, the news on the former Philly football players has been wide-open this week. Here is what's going on in the world of former Eagles:

• Andy "The Stud" Studebacker is now a Jacksonville Jaguar. Studebacker was cut by Andy Reid shortly after he arrived in Kansas City. The former small-school standout at Wheaton College, was a sixth-round pick by the Eagles in 2008. He was let go during final cuts that offseason and was brought back on the practice squad. Studebacker was signed off the Eagles' practice squad by Kansas City, where spent five seasons. His been mostly a special teams ace for the Chiefs but had his biggest game against the Steelers in 2009, when he picked off Ben Roethlisberger twice.

• Bills quarterback Kevin Kolb is still walking with a limp. His leg injury, which was caused by slipping on a wet mat last week, has hindered his ability to move in the pocket. The former Eagles' draft pick has had his up-and-downs in the league but injuries have been a constant issue. Rookie E.J. Manuel seems to be poised to start in Week One.

• Former Eagles' running back Dion Lewis has reportedly received more first-team reps than anyone else on the Browns. The likely-backup has been getting the rock quite a bit and with Trent Richardson recovering from a leg injury, Lewis may even start some games this season. Offensive coordinator Norv Turner has compared Lewis to the Saints' Darren Sproles.

• Moise Fokou is on the verge of landing the Titans' starting middle linebacker job. The battle has really come down to Colin McCarthy's durability. The guy basically can't stay on the field. Fokou started plenty of games for the Eagles, so at least he is a veteran presence.

• Just when you thought it was safe to forget about Stewart Bradley, he has entered the starting middle linebacker competition in Denver. The former Eagles' starter is fighting Nate Irving for the spot left open by the exodus of fellow former Eagle Joe Mays. Bradley started the Broncos' first preseason game against the 49ers.
