Philadelphia Eagles Training Camp 2013 Notes & Quotes - Monday 8/12/2013 - Brandon Lee Gowton, BGN
Rookie Safety Earl Wolff saw reps with the first team defense today next to Patrick Chung. This is something that Eagles Insider Dave Spadaro hinted about last night on Howard Eskin's FOX29 sports show. Chung had a nice performance against the Patriots and is probably locked in to be a starter. The other spot is up for grabs and Wolff is a contender for it.

Eagles training camp 2013: The embattled Eagles defense was chippy today, notes galore - JimmyK, Philly.com
Clay Harbor worked as a WR again today. I think that might be viewed negatively. I don't read it that way at all. Harbor is an athletic freak with the kind of speed that most TEs across the league don't have. He just seems like a guy to me that a new staff would love to try to "fix." Harbor is rocked out... He's ripped. The Eagles' staff has to be impressed by his physique. The old staff might have gotten to the point where they would have moved on, due to Harbor's lack of production, but I can see Chip Kelly and Co. sticking with him for a season to see if they can work some of their magic on him.

Nick Foles Braces For Thursday's Start - Danta Klaus, PhiladelphiaEagles.com
Michael Vick was sharp against the Patriots as he completed four of five throws for 94 yards and heaved a picture-perfect touchdown pass to wide receiver DeSean Jackson. Despite Vick's impressive outing, Foles does not feel any additional pressure to deliver a superlative start of his own.

QB Update - Tommy Lawlor, Iggles Blitz
Okay, let’s talk about the QB competition. How do things look after the preseason opener? Michael Vick is in the lead.

NFP preseason rookie report: Eagles - National Football Post
Lane Johnson started at right tackle and played well. Quarterback Matt Barkley isn’t getting media attention as the possible starter at quarterback but he should and may be in the conversation. Second-round pick Zach Ertz did a few nice things as the "move" tight end. On defense, Bennie Logan showed the ability to play anywhere on the defensive line and rookie free agent linebacker Jake Knott is going to be very tough to run off.

Same Old Chip: What We Learned About the Eagles Offense in Their New Coach's Preseason Debut - The Triangle Blog - Grantland
Before the second play of his first NFL game, Philadelphia's new head coach, Chip Kelly, a man who made his reputation as the architect of college football's most prolific offense — the Oregon Ducks' fast-break, spread-it-out attack — did the unthinkable: He had his team huddle. He followed this with another knee-weakening moment: His quarterback, Michael Vick, lined up under center, an alignment from which the Eagles ran a basic run to the left.

With new attitude, DeSean looks like old self - Reuben Frank, CSN Philly
Watch Jackson this whole summer, and you realize there’s a new aura about him, a new vibe. Somehow, he’s now one of the most senior players on the roster, and there’s a seriousness about his game now, a work ethic and veteran approach that wasn’t always present in the past.

Andy Reid is Loving Football Again - Peter King, The MMQB
"I’m enjoying the heck out of it," Reid said. "I loved Philadelphia. I love the Eagles—still do. I love the organization. But I think, change can be good, and right now, it’s very good for me, and I think it’s very good for the Eagles."
