Philly media takes Cary Williams' words out of context

Apparently, Cary Williams didn't really mean what he said.

USA TODAY Sports

Cary Williams was asked after practice if he was approached by the coaching staff about comments he made yesterday in regard to the Eagles' defense being a unit that nobody fears. Williams replied that he sought them out himself to clarify to the staff that his words were "taken out of context." When asked exactly what was taken out of context, Williams replied that he hadn't read anything.

OK.

For the record, as a credentialed reporter, I can attest to the fact that we like to single out specific players, have secret meetings in which we determine how we want to spin their words, and coordinate a negative public relations offensive, which often includes doctored video. It's been going on for years, frankly, dating all the way back to the O.J. trial.
