Eagles waive WR B.J. Cunningham with injury settlement

Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports

The Eagles cut a wide receiver today and no, it wasn't Riley Cooper.

Instead it was WR BJ Cunningham who's been missing training camp practices with a foot injury. In my practice notes from Sunday, I noted he had been seen in a walking boot which wasn't a positive sign.

Cunningham was added to the Eagles 2012 practice squad shortly after the Dolphins cut him in the final cuts in late August. He was a 6th round pick of the Dolphins in the 2012 NFL draft (183rd overall).

It's a shame this didn't work out better for Cunningham or the Eagles. Cunningham had some nice size and was a pleasure to watch in his college days at Michigan State University.

The Eagles roster currently stands at 89. No word yet on who will fill the last spot.
