Michael Vick On Splitting Reps: ‘It's Tough'

The Eagles' three-day minicamp is over, the offseason program is a wrap, and the quarterback picture remains out of focus. The first-team reps have been split pretty evenly between Michael Vick and Nick Foles since OTAs kicked off a few weeks back, and by the looks of it, the QB competition will continue through training camp.

Eagles cornerback Boykin ready to stand tall

Of the regulars in the Eagles secondary, Brandon Boykin would seem to have the tightest grip on his position. Every spot is said to be open, but if another slot cornerback was to emerge ahead of Boykin by the start of the season, it would be a surprise. And yet, despite his solid status inside, Boykin still yearns to start on the outside.

Clifton Geathers is a towering presence for Eagles

THIS YEAR'S Eagles defensive line rotation is going to look very different from what fans are used to seeing. The Andy Reid-era Eagles prized speed over size up front, whether the defensive coordinator was Jim Johnson, Sean McDermott or Juan Castillo. The phrase "high motor" came up a lot, usually with players who might otherwise be described as "low measuring tape."

Philadelphia Eagles sign 3rd round pick Bennie Logan

The Eagles agreed to terms today on a 3 year contract with 3rd round pick, DT Bennie Logan. That leaves only first round pick Lane Johnson and 4th rounder Matt Barkley unsigned. Don't be surprised if those deals get done relatively soon though.

Jeff George tutoring Christian Ponder for the Vikings

In his second NFL season, Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder finished 21st in Football Outsiders' opponent-adjusted metrics among qualifying quarterbacks and threw 18 touchdown passes to 12 interceptions. But more will be expected of Ponder if the VIkings are to get further in the playoffs than they did in 2012, when Ponder suffered an elbow injury in the regular-season finale, and the Vikings lost to the Green Bay Packers, 24-10, in the wild-card round. The Vikings have taken Adrian Peterson's greatness about as far as any team can take the efforts of any running back. And in the interest of moving Ponder along, head coach Leslie Frazier has taken an unusual step in bringing former NFL quarterback Jeff George in as a "guest coach" during this week's OTAs.
