Well, this is a surprise. According to several reports, the New England Patriots will sign former "Mile High Messiah," Tim Tebow. The former Florida Gator is expected to take part in the team's minicamp, which starts on Tuesday. With future Hall-of-Famer Tom Brady and heir-apparent Ryan Mallett on the roster, Tebow will likely be the third quarterback.
You may be questioning whether Tebow will be used as a quarterback or where the Eagles news is in this story, but we can assume the answer to the first question with the answer to the second. Former Eagles quarterback, Mike Kafka, was cut Monday afternoon. The former Senior Bowl standout was cut by the Eagles prior to the 2012 season and signed with the Patriots at the beginning of this offseason. Kafka will now be put on waivers.
While Tebow may be the third quarterback for the Patriots, he is likely to see snaps on special teams as well. Bill Belichick is an admirer of players that can play multiple positions. The dust has not yet cleared and there are plenty of questions surrounding the move, but one thing is for sure, the Hoodie is not a "Tebow Hater."
