Adam Schefter is reporting that the Eagles held a work out today with former Cowboys first round pick Felix Jones. The 26 year old has spent the last 5 seasons with the Cowboys rushing for 2,728 yards & 11 TDs. He also caught 127 passes for another 11 TDs.
At times, Jones flashed the ability prompted the Cowboys to spend the #22 pick on him in 2008, but overall he's been a disappointment in Dallas. The mistake they made on Jones is even more amplified by the fact that they passed on the likes of Rashard Mendenhall, Chris Johnson, Matt Forté, Ray Rice and Jamaal Charles to take him.
Jones may have value for some team as a backup or change of pace back. For the Eagles, he'd probably be competing with Bryce Brown for a backup job at best. Still, you'd have to expect that Brown would have the inside track. Otherwise, the Eagles have guys like Chris Polk and UDFA Miguel Maysonet on the roster.
The post draft time is when teams start to pick around the leftovers of free agency, so expect to hear about the Eagles kicking the tires on a few guys.
