Eagles have "no interest" in Tim Tebow

Jim Rogash

This is not really news, but more of a declaration to casual fans clamoring for the "Tebowmania" to run wild on Philadelphia. According to Les Bowen, the Eagles are not interested in Tim Tebow, who was cut by the Jets on Monday morning. While many think Tebow would fit Kelly's two mantras of "big people beat up smaller people" and "we want guys that can play multiple positions," the Eagles are apparently passing on the once-named "Mile High Messiah."

Gator and Tebow fans should not be disappointed though. The Eagles still have Tebow's best friend and college roommate, wide receiver Riley Cooper. Then there is that whole thing about having five quarterbacks headed into training camp and the fact that the team drafted once-heralded USC gun-slinger, Matt Barkley in the 4th round of the 2013 NFL Draft on Saturday.

It is unclear where Tebow will end up and if it is in the CFL, that would not necessarily be a bad thing for him. Former Eagle, Jeff Garcia, got a second chance at the NFL after heading north of the border. Warren Moon and Joe Theissman did the same. Either way, like it or not, the Eagles will dodge the media bullet and will be out of the Tebow game before he is even officially no longer a Jets (will be placed on waivers at 4 p.m. EST).
