2013 2nd round NFL mock draft: Where does Mel Kiper have Geno Smith, Manti Te'o?

The big stories in terms of players who dropped past day one were Notre Dame's Manti Te'o as well as the notable QBs like Geno Smith, Matt Barkley & Ryan Nassib. ESPN's Mel Kiper released his second round mock draft and if things go the way he thinks, those guys won't have to wait very long.

In fact, he's got Geno Smith going to the Eagles with the 3rd pick of the round.

"Chip Kelly gets a great thrower with underrated athleticism to develop behind Michael Vick," Kiper wrote.

Kiper has the Eagles passing on the safeties Cyprien & Swearinger, Sio Moore, Margus Hunt... All perhaps useful players. Obviously none are as important as getting a franchise QB, but at the same time if the Eagles were truly in love with Geno Smith they likely wouldn't have waited until the second to take him.
