2013 Compensatory picks announced

Doug Pensinger

The NFL announced compensatory picks this evening. They are extra picks at the ends of rounds 3-7 that awarded to teams that suffered net losses in terms of free agents lost/signed. The amount of money and playing time the departing player gets also factors in.

The Eagles were awarded 1 compensatory pick, the 33rd overall selection in the 7th round. Last year they lost Juqua Parker and Steve Smith to free agency, while signing Demetress Bell.

Overall, 16 teams received comp picks, but 3 teams were given 3rd round picks. The Houston Texans, who lost Mario Williams to the Buffalo Bills. The Kansas City Chiefs, who lost Brandon Carr to a big money deal to the Cowboys. And finally the Tennessee Titans, who had Cortland Finnegan leave for a $50 million deal in St. Louis.

Here is each teams pick with the round, choice in that round and overall.
