2013 NFL Mock Draft: Luke Joeckel out of the top 10?

Check out our 2013 Eagles mock draft central for more opinions on who could be the #4 pick in April.

USA TODAY Sports

I've shared a mock draft by Russ Lande before and like that one, this will likely be controversial. However, like I said then, Lande is one of the unfortunately rare national media types who does his own work. He's been a scout in the league, he watches tape and he builds his board independently of what the accepted wisdom is.

So while I don't necessarily think he's going to be the most accurate, I think there's a lot to be gleaned from what he thinks.

The most shocking thing in this mock is how far Luke Joeckel drops. Now, his stock seems to have suffered a touch with his ho-hum pre draft performance, but the accepted wisdom is that his tape is so good against elite competition that really his combine workout just isn't that important. If he fell to #11 it would be a shock... and the Chargers would have to feel that the heavens have opened up and the football gods are shining their holy light on them. That is a team, after all, whose fans were celebrating signing King Dunlap.

For the Eagles, Lande has a name that has become a favorite around BGN, Dion Jordan, OLB, Oregon.

Many assume the Eagles are content with Trent Cole and Brandon Graham as the outside linebackers in their 34 defense. However, Cole is 30, Graham is unproven and Coach Kelly saw Dion Jordan's dynamic athleticism and pass rush ability first hand when he coached him at Oregon.

Personally, I don't believe I'd take Jordan with Joeckel and Milliner on the board, but he would be a popular pick.
