The Eagles confirmed the signing today of free agent CB Bradley Fletcher. Fletcher (who we spotlighted last night) is set to join an Eagles secondary that has tons of question marks and little supply. Fletcher has started nearly half of the games he's played in the league and according to Tommy Lawlor has the best pure coverage skills in this free agency class.
[Note by JasonB, 03/12/13 8:57 PM EDT ] Fletcher's deal is for 2 years, $5.25m with incentives per Jordan Raanan.
With Cortland Finnegan, Janoris Jenkins and Trumaine Johnson at cornerback for St. Louis, Fletcher was not a likely to re-sign with the Rams. He was ranked as Pro Football Focus' 9th ranked free agent cornerback and had the second best Yard Per Coverage Snap last season. He was benched last year for having several pass interference calls but has shown that he can play when given the chance. He played mostly in the slot this past season but was a starter on the outside in 2010 and 2011.
He's not likely the guy most fans wanted but is likely just one of the defensive backs that will be added this week and in the draft. He will likely compete for a starting gig.
