The Eagles wrapped up day one of free agency with a flurry of activity that saw them announce 5 signings. None were the big names in free agency this year, but all figure to fill roles on the 2013 squad with a few likely to challenge for starting jobs.
Here's a roundup of all the Eagles news and rumors from day one of free agency.
Goodbye Nnamdi, it hasn't been nice
We start our recap of day one not with a signing but a release. The Eagles first order of business today was cutting Nnamdi Asomugha. He will count $4 million against this year's cap, but the move did create another $10 million in space. It was only 2 years ago that Nnamdi signed a 5 year $60 million deal soon after the start of free agency.
Always the classy guy, Nnamdi released the following statement.
"I'm very grateful for my time in Philadelphia and I want to thank the Eagles organization for the opportunity to play here," said Asomugha. "It was an honor to play in such a great football city with such a passionate fan base, and I wish my former teammates and coaches the best next season."

In ex Eagles news, King Dunlap has signed a 2 year deal with the San Diego Chargers. For some reason this has a lot of Chargers fans genuinely excited.
It's just a very odd world when King Dunlap is signing a deal in the moments after free agency kicks off.
Another soon to be ex Eagle, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, reportedly has a visit set up with the Denver Broncos.
