NFL Free Agency 2013: Mike Wallace, Paul Kruger headline early deals

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Dolphins are making a strong push for the always a dubious title of free agency "winners" this year. They landed one of the bigger and certainly most expensive fish of the market inking WR Mike Wallace to a reported 5 year, $60+ million deal with upwards of $30 million guarnateed.

How cheap does DeSean Jackson's 5-year, $47 mil deal with $12m guaranteed look right now?

But the Dolphins were not done as they also made the surprise move of the day stealing away LB Dannell Ellerbee from the Super Bowl champion Ravens. Baltimore was hoping to keep Ellerbee and saw him as the replacement for the retired Ray Lewis.

Speaking of the Ravens, they're getting pretty well cleaned out. Ray Lewis retired, DE Paul Kruger has signed a 5 year, $41m deal with the rival Browns, Anquan Boldin was traded for a 6th round pick in part to open up cap room to keep Ellerbee. Plus, Ed Reed is still an unrestricted free agent. Heavy is the head that wears the crown.

Elsewhere around the league TE Delanie Walker signed a 4 year deal with the Titans, G Andy Levitre signed a big 5 year deal with the Titans, G Louis Vasquez signed a 4 year deal with the Broncos, TE Anthony Fasano signed with the Chiefs and Martellus Bennett is signing with the Bears.
