2013 Super Bowl final score: Ravens upset 49ers 34-31

Local guy Joe Flacco was named MVP as he led the Baltimore Ravens in a 34-31 upset win over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII

The Baltimore Ravens have defeated the San Francisco 49ers 34-31 to win Super Bowl XLVII. Congratulations go out to ex Eagles John Harbaugh and Juan Castillo, who now and forever get to write Super Bowl champions on their resume.

It really was a game of two halves in which the Ravens dominated the first and after a bizarre power outage early in the second, the 49ers took full control. But the Ravens defense put up what will become a legendary goal line stand with a little over 2 minutes to seal the victory.

South Jersey's Joe Flacco was deservedly be named MVP after throwing for 287 yards and 3 TDs. It's probably going to go down as the greatest contract year in NFL history. Flacco, who is scheduled to be a free agent this offseason, will almost certainly become one of, if not the highest paid players in the NFL.

It was a fairly bizarre Super Bowl with 30+ minute power outage, but ultimately the game itself was really good. All you can really hope for is that both teams are competitive and for the last few minutes to matter. That was the case tonight.

The Ravens now get to plan their parade as the rest of the NFL starts in earnest the task of trying to catch up with them. Next up is free agency, then the draft, then OTAs and training camp until finally it all starts again this fall.

Congrats to the Ravens and their fans over at Baltimore Beatdown.
