Kenny Vaccarro, safety, Texas. HT: 6-1 WT: 210. Projected round(s):1st-2nd
Strengths
Vaccaro is built to be a do it all kind of safety. He's athletic enough to match up with WRs in the slot, but tough enough to be a force in run support as well. In fact, the Longhorns would sometimes use him as a nickel back, so he's got that versatility you look for in a modern safety.
Sound tackler who uses his plus upper body strength and displays good technique. Has been starting since his Sophomore season and has previously won UT's Special teams player of the year award.

Weaknesses
Will sometimes take questionable angles on tackles and has been known to freelance and do his own thing at times. While he has broken up a fair number of passes in his career, he's not been the kind of ballhawk that typical Texas safeties have been known to be.
Played a lot of man coverage in college, so if he'll be asked to play more zone in the NFL, that may take some adjustment.

Eagles fit
There's no question that safety is a major need and Vaccaro would likely start from day one at free safety. The question is whether he's gettable. The Eagles aren't using the #4 pick on him, but will he be there when they pick at the top of the second round? Many mock drafts have him projected as a late first round pick.
