NFL Mock Draft 2013: Will Matt Barkley be the top QB taken?

Check out our 2013 Eagles mock draft central for more opinions on who could be the #4 pick in April.

Robert Laberge

When we last checked in with CBS sports draft duo of Rob Rang and Dane Brugler, both men had the Eagles taking Texas A&M OT Luke Joeckel with the #4 overall pick. That was a little over 10 days ago and even though literally nothing has changed with these prospects... their mock drafts have changed!

Not that we mind, because we like to see lots of different names. Now for Brugler, things have changed elsewhere in his draft, but he's still got the Eagles taking Joeckel.

Just like other positions on the Eagles' depth chart, offensive tackle looked to be a strength, but injuries have really taken a toll on this team. Although Jason Peters' injury situation will be a factor in Philadelphia choosing a tackle - as will the type of offensive linemen new head coach Chip Kelly seeks - Joeckel has the chance to grow into one of the NFL's best.

Rang has a change, with the Eagles instead grabbing Utah DT Star Lotulelei.

When Chip Kelly's offense struggled at Oregon it was usually due to the presence of a dominant interior defensive lineman (as in former Auburn standout Nick Fairley in the 2010-11 BCS Championship Game). As such, expect Kelly to push for a premium defensive tackle if in position to land one. Adding the versatile Lotulelei would give the Eagles a fearsome duo inside, considering the investment made a year ago in Fletcher Cox.
