Michael Vick: I 'put too much effort into not being injured' | Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia
"What I have to do is go out and play lights-out football and not worry about getting hurt," Vick said. "I think over the last two years I was trying to protect myself, trying to make sure I was out on the football field with my teammates and putting too much effort into not being injured."
Vick sees himself on the run with Chip
Clearly, Vick thinks Kelly's offense will involve him running the ball a lot, even though every time he is asked about it, Kelly goes to great pains to explain that isn't at all what the read-option is about. "In 2006 I ran for 1,000 yards -- and it wasn't hard," Vick said. "The only thing you have to do is train. I feel like I can still do that. To what level, I don't know, but I feel like I can do it at a high level." The 2006 Falcons went 7-9 with Vick running for 1,039 yards, by the way. That was the only season in which Vick has played 16 games.
Michael Vick has given Eagles' coaches confidence | Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia
Offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur and quarterbacks coach Bill Lazor sat down with the media on Monday and faced plenty of questions about Vick, who earlier in the day had agreed to a contract restructure that guaranteed the veteran quarterback at least the chance to compete for the starting job. Both coaches held back on forecasting their ability to recreate Vick into a fearsome NFL weapon who was once in the same tax bracket as Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, but neither hid his belief that Vick could be rebuilt into something better than the quarterback who is 10-13 in his past 23 starts.

"Things haven't been totally talked about [between Kelly and Surmur], but the inspiration for this offense is his, and I would anticipate he would be the play caller," Shurmur said.

The Cowboys' Anthony Spencer problem - NFC East Blog - ESPN
The Dallas Cowboys franchised Anthony Spencer last year in the hopes that he'd have a big contract year and they'd get the best out of him. They got their wish. Unfortunately, because of that, they may not be able to keep him. Stephen Jones offered this not-overly-optimistic analysis of the team's chances to retain Spencer, who is eligible for unrestricted free agency while the Cowboys are projected to be about $18 million over the salary cap
Four Elements of a Draft Grade | The Sideline View
Here are the four grades that every player had to pass in order to draftable when I was GM. Each area will have a major influence on whether or not he’ll have a career at the next level. Remember that the consideration when drafting a player isn’t "can he make my team", it’s "can I win with him and can I count on him."
