Vikings may be without RBs Adrian Peterson and Toby Gerhart on Sunday

The Vikings could be without their two top backs on Sunday.

The Eagles will face the Vikings on Sunday. While their record and roster have been underwhelming this season, the Vikings still can play spoiler in Minnesota, so the Eagles need to be prepared for this possible "trap" game. The Eagles have won five games in a row, but the Vikings have been able to upset the likes of the Bears and Steelers this season with Matt Cassel at quarterback and nearly beat the Ravens on Sunday.

Cassel has seemingly been the only quarterback that can win games for the Vikings and he will almost definitely be under center in Minnesota in Week 14. Unfortunately for him, running backs Adrian Peterson and Toby Gerhart are dealing with leg injuries. Peterson's status for the game is in question with a mid-foot sprain that looked extremely painful in the Vikings loss to the Ravens. Gerhart also suffered a "tweaked" hamstring in Week 13 as well, according to head coach Leslie Frazier.

If Peterson and/or Gerhart miss the game, fullback/running back Matt Asiata would get a lot of carries against the Eagles. Asiata has played in 25 games over the last two seasons for Minnesota but has only three carries for nine yards and a two-yard catch, which all came in 2012. The Vikings also have fullback Jerome Felton on the roster as well as practice squad running back Joe Banyard.
