2014 NFL Mock Draft BGN 4.0: Eagles get some help in the secondary

Josh Collacchi and Mike Kaye take a look at the possible scenarios in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

After Week 13, the draft order has been updated by winning percentage and strength of schedule. Keep in mind, there is a lot of football to be played, and this order could change drastically.

But should the NFL Draft be this week, here are some possible scenarios. Our Eagles select 21st overall.

Team Pick Analyst Comments
1 Houston QB Teddy Bridgewater, Louisville Mike Houston is awful due to quarterback player and it's pretty much that simple. Bridgewater can be an elite passer.
2 Jacksonville QB Derek Carr, Fresno State Josh The happiest person in the world may be Cecil Shorts, the Jaguars get their quarterback
3 St. Louis OT Jake Matthews, Texas A&M Mike The Rams need to protect their quarterback and with Jake Long getting older and more injury-prone, you can get a top right tackle to eventually move to left in the future.
4 Atlanta DE Jadeveon Clowney, South Carolina Josh Arguably the best player to come out in terms of ability in a long time. Happens to be the one of the Falcons needs. Great fit all around.
5 Tampa Bay OLB Khalil Mack, Buffalo Mike The Buccaneers need to improve their pass rush, which mostly comes from the defensive tackle and linebacker positions. Mack is a complete pass rusher with speed.
6 Minnesota QB Zach Mettenberger, LSU Josh Minnesota needs a quarterback that can see the field and connect with open receivers. Mettenberger can be that guy.
7 Cleveland QB Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M Mike The Browns are more in need of a quarterback then maybe anyone in the league, Manziel is the best available and Joe Banner can't afford to miss out on another passer.
8 Oakland WR Sammy Watkins, Clemson Josh Watkins is the top receiver in this class, his innate ability to make a play almost every time he touches the ball is second to none in this draft. A pure number one wideout in the NFL.
9 Buffalo OT Cameron Erving, FSU Mike Bills quarterback E.J. Manuel is reunited with his college tackle and has a more secured line with Cordy Glenn moving to right tackle.
10 Pittsburgh WR Mike Evans, Texas A&M Josh The Steelers have the best slot receiver in the NFL in Antonio Brown, but he is playing on the outside, Evans adds another dimension to the Steelers offense, and a number one WR in the NFL.
11 NY Jets TE Jace Amaro, Texas Tech Mike There is literally no better way to get Geno Smith to move the chains than a great pass-catching tight end. Amaro has speed, size and hands, which will all serve the young quarterback well.
12 Tennessee OLB Anthony Barr, UCLA Josh Barr has the ability to play OLB in the Titans defense, and being behind one of the best defensive lines in the AFC will help him. He will play a Von Miller type role in Tennessee.
13 San Diego OT Cyrus Kouandjio, Alabama Mike When you start King Dunlap, you're going to have a bad time. Kouandjio has the makings of an elite offensive tackle and has more potential than Andre Smith in my opinion.
14 New York Giants CB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, Oregon Josh The Giants need help at corner, Corey Webster is not the answer and Amukamara is not the shut down guy they thought he was. Ifo is the best corner in this year's class.
15 St. Louis Rams OLB C.J. Mosley, Alabama Mike The Rams can now complete their linebacker trifecta with Mosley, James Laurinaitis and Alec Ogletree. Jo-Lonn Dunbar is nice, but Mosely is going to be an upgrade.
16 Green Bay TE Eric Ebron, University of North Carolina Josh With the more than likely departure of Jermichael Finley one way or the other, the Packers will need a tight end. Luckily for them, Eric Ebron is on the board, has the potential to be a great TE.
17 Chicago DE Trent Murphy, Stanford Mike It's time to start thinking about the future. Julius Peppers is getting up there in age and is no longer a top 10 pass rusher. Murphy is a stud, who can start right away.
18 Baltimore WR Jordan Matthews, Vanderbilt Josh The Ravens need a big bodied receiver to give Joe Flacco another weapon. Matthews is the most NFL ready of the wide receiver crop apart from Evans and Watkins.
19 Miami OT Taylor Lewan, Michigan Mike Between the Jonathan Martin scandal, Richie Incognito's part in it, Bryant McKinnie's age and Tyson Clabo's ineptness, a tackle is what the Dolphins really need. Lewan is a stud.
20 Detroit DE Vic Beasley, Clemson Josh The Lions have other needs, but with the Beasley selection the Lions defensive line has the potential to be the best in the NFL with Ansah, Suh, Fairley and now Vic Beasley.
21 Philadelphia CB Jason Verrett, TCU Mike The Eagles could use a true number one cornerback across the way from Bradley Fletcher. Cary Williams may stay but he is upgradable. Verrett is a Sheldon Brown-type with great coverage ability.
22 Dallas DT RaShede Hageman, Minnesota Josh The Cowboys need interior pressue, as Nick Hayden is not getting the job done. Hageman's huge frame and underrated athletic ability will help the Cowboys pass rush, and he can also stuff the gaps in the run game.
23 Arizona OT Cedric Ogbuehi, Texas A&M Mike The Cardinals have a historically bad offensive line, so they need to keep building on the blindside. With Jonathan Cooper coming back from injury and Ogbuehi in the fold, there should be great improvement.
24 Cincinnati WR Marqise Lee, USC Josh The Bengals have been searching for a true threat opposite A.J. Green, with Lee they will have that. Great after the catch and can still go get it despite an injury-plagued season in 2013.
25 Cleveland NT Will Sutton, Arizona State Mike Sutton has lost draft steam since last season due to a weight gain, but really he can play all three spots on the Browns defensive line and allow Cleveland to move Phil Taylor in any spot they choice.
26 San Francisco WR Brandin Cooks, Oregon State Josh Brandin Cooks is a true slot receiver with incredible speed. But he can go up and get the ball and run terriffic routes as well. The Niners with Boldin and Crabtree on the outside and Cooks in the middle, Kaepernick will be happy.
27 Kansas City LB Ryan Shazier, Ohio State Mike Shaizer will become the man in the middle next to Derrick Johnson next season as Akeem Jordan is nice but is really better served as a backup and special teams player.
28 New England S Hasean Clinton-Dix, Alabama Josh The Patriots need a playmaking safety, and Clinton-Dix is the guy that can do that for them. With Mayo and Wilford returning and the addition of Clinton-Dix, this defense could be very good next season.
29 Carolina WR Allen Robinson, Penn State Mike Cam Newton has delivered all season for the Panthers, now it is time to reward him with a weapon. Robinson can start right away and is a low risk, high reward player for Carolina.
30 New Orleans CB Bradley Roby, Ohio State Josh Roby has been up and down with the Buckeyes this season, but with incredible athleticism and the ability to make a play in the secondary, Rob Ryan will use him the right way.
31 Denver C Travis Swanson, Arkansas Mike The Broncos suffered a litany of injuries in the middle of their offensive line. Denver needs to keep Peyton Manning upright and Swanson will be a big help in that department.
32 Seattle CB Darqueze Dennard, Michigan State Josh The rich get richer, but with the likely departure of Brandon Browner and maybe Walter Thurmond, the Seahawks need someone to fill those shoes. Dennard can do everything as a corner and is a great fit in Seattle.
