NFL Power Rankings 2013, Week 14: Eagles Compilation

Where do the Eagles rank around the web?

Bob Stanton-USA TODAY Sports

Earlier today at the site I released my Week 14 NFL Power Rankings. But what is only one opinion worth?

So here is a round up of how various media outlets have ranked your Philadelphia Eagles. Let's start by revisiting mine:

9) Philadelphia Eagles (LW: 11) - Hot. Eight straight games holding their opponents to 21 points or less. Four game winning streak. 6-2 in their last eight. Folesadelphia.

SB Nation NFL

12. Philadelphia Eagles Even a hot rod engine needs spark plugs, and Nick Foles has provided the spark to get Chip Kelly’s bunch peaking at the right time with their most impressive win of the season. Despite DeSean Jackson languishing in Peterson Penitentiary, Foles was able to make enough money with the Tighty Whitey air attack (TE’s Zach Ertz and Brent Celek along with WR Riley Cooper) to generate a sparkling 3-TD performance against one of the league’s best pass defenses. Matt Stafford and company will provide a tough test for a questionable secondary, but it’s looking more and more likely that the miraculous could happen – TWO teams in the NFC East could finish over .500! (Last Week: 14)

Arrowhead Pride

(Average Rank - 10.3)

The Phinsider

8) Nick Foles has 19 touchdown passes and 0 interceptions, with a 125.2 passer rating. Why do people still ask about Michael Vick? (LW: 10)

Mile High Report

10) The Eagles deserved to jump ahead of the Cowboys based on their wins last week. The Cowboys, at home on the national stage, was barely able to keep the inferior Raiders at arms length. While Nick Foles and the Eagles put it on early and often against a pretty stout defense in the Cardinals. The division could come down to the final matchup in Dallas in Week 17. (LW: 12)

Cincy Jungle

9) Where in the heck did Nick Foles come from? (LW: 14)

Big Blue View

11. Philadelphia Eagles (7-5): Philly finally cooled off the Cardinals, and continues to keep pace with Dallas in the NFC East. (LW: 11)

Revenge of the Birds

10) Nick Foles and the Eagles outlasted the Cardinals by playing mistake free football. I'm still not sold on Chip Kelly as a head coach, but for today the team is good enough to be better than most. (LW: 11)

Blogging the Boys

12) The Eagles kept pace with the Cowboys in the NFC East, but three consecutive games on their schedule against NFC North teams will be tough to win. (LW: 12)

ESPN

10) The Cardinals blitzed on 70 percent of Nick Foles' first-half dropbacks Sunday. Foles was 10-of-14 for 138 yards and two touchdowns against the blitz before Arizona adjusted. Too little, too late. (LW: 11)

CBS

10) Nick Foles is on a roll, but the Eagles face a tough challenge this week against the Lions. (LW: 11)

PFT

10. Eagles (7-5; No. 11): Maybe Chip Kelly has been talking so fast lately so no one thinks to ask him why Nick Foles wasn’t the Week One starter.

FOX

9) Nick Foles now has 19 touchdowns without throwing an interception this season and leads the NFL with a 125.2 passer rating this season. (LW: 9)

Yahoo!

9) See that last sentence about the Lions? Well, it applies here too, if they win the East. But the takeaway from this season is that Chip Kelly’s offense should be great once it accumulates better talent. (LW: 10)

Analysis: Not too bad. The rankings range from as high as 8 to as low as 12. I think 12 is too low, especially since some of those rankings have the Cowboys over the Eagles. The Cowboys have won two in a row out of their bye week but they haven't looked super impressive. The same could be said for the Eagles when giving up ground on their leads late in games, but overall the team is playing pretty well. And at least they're building leads.

10th seems like a fair spot when you average the rankings out. So, yeah, that's right. The Eagles are probably a top 10 team in the NFL right now. Face it, folks.
