Over the last few weeks, the Eagles' playoff scenarios required a fair amount of explaining. This week, it's about as cut and dry as you can get. If the Eagles beat or tie the Cowboys in Dallas next Sunday night, they're in. If they lose, they're out. In that regard, it is pretty much a playoff game. For the rest of this week, let's go ahead and call it the NFC East Championship Game.

They told him he hadn’t been playing with the same fire, the same intensity, the same passion that had become his trademark in Baltimore. His brother, his sister, his pastor, his best friend and his wife. All of them had watched the Eagles play this season, and none recognized the team’s left cornerback as the Cary Williams who won a Super Bowl last year with the Ravens.
Dawkins: Eagles Need To Respect Orton - Tim McManus, Birds 24/7
Brian Dawkins spent three seasons in Denver. For the majority of that time, Kyle Orton was the Broncos’ starting quarterback. They both joined the team in 2009. Orton threw for over 3,800 yards that year with 21 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He posted similar numbers the following season. Dawkins didn’t make Orton out to be Peyton Manning (he went 12-21 as the starter with the Broncos) but cautioned those who are ready to dismiss the Cowboys altogether because he will be playing quarterback Sunday night instead of Tony Romo.

You can look at some of the games you’ve played in college and you may hype them up that way. But in the back of your mind you know what the outcome of the game will be before it’s played because there is such a big discrepancy. In this league there is no discrepancy. You’ve got to come to play every week. The team that executes the best usually ends up the team that’s on top. But in terms of a surprise, nothing that’s really come out that’s been like, Well, I didn’t think that was ever going to be that way." In case you didn’t get the reference, that’s FOX 29’s / 94 WIP’s Howard Eskin under the costume, and if you want a super serious take on this all-important matter, I think it was poor form to promise the coach an Eagles win over Dallas is Week 17 for Christmas.
