Eagles updated playoff scenarios, with a preview of potential Eagles playoff opponents - JimmyK, Philly.com
Over the last few weeks, the Eagles' playoff scenarios required a fair amount of explaining. This week, it's about as cut and dry as you can get. If the Eagles beat or tie the Cowboys in Dallas next Sunday night, they're in. If they lose, they're out. In that regard, it is pretty much a playoff game. For the rest of this week, let's go ahead and call it the NFC East Championship Game.

Fluke or Peak? - Tommy Lawlor, Iggles Blitz
The Eagles played their best game of the year last night. The offense was explosive and efficient. The defense was aggressive and stingy. Even the STs units came up big. Was that a fluke or did the Eagles finally reach the level they want to play at on a regular basis? As a skeptic or non-Eagles fan, it would be easy to point to the game as a fluke. But that might be wrong.

Eagle Eye In The Sky: Bears Review - Fran Duffy, PE.com
Chip Kelly proved them wrong. Sunday’s win had real meaning. That win means that an Eagles win (or tie, as Kelly reminded us after the game) secures the NFC East for the first time in three years. That win means that this team has officially moved on from the disappointment in Minnesota. That win means that the Eagles head to Dallas riding the momentum of holding one of the most feared offenses in football to nearly nothing. That win means if the Eagles beat Dallas on Sunday, they’ll be one of the hottest teams heading into the playoffs, and a squad that no one will want to face with the season on the line. Let’s take a look at what led to the victory. As you can imagine, there’s a lot to break down ...

Backlash from family, friends motivates Cary Williams - Geoff Mosher, CSN Philly
It’s one thing to hear trash talk or rants from fans, opposing wideouts or former teammates. But when the harshest critiques started coming from his family, Cary Williams knew he needed to listen and respond. They told him he hadn’t been playing with the same fire, the same intensity, the same passion that had become his trademark in Baltimore. His brother, his sister, his pastor, his best friend and his wife. All of them had watched the Eagles play this season, and none recognized the team’s left cornerback as the Cary Williams who won a Super Bowl last year with the Ravens.

Dawkins: Eagles Need To Respect Orton - Tim McManus, Birds 24/7
Brian Dawkins spent three seasons in Denver. For the majority of that time, Kyle Orton was the Broncos’ starting quarterback. They both joined the team in 2009. Orton threw for over 3,800 yards that year with 21 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He posted similar numbers the following season. Dawkins didn’t make Orton out to be Peyton Manning (he went 12-21 as the starter with the Broncos) but cautioned those who are ready to dismiss the Cowboys altogether because he will be playing quarterback Sunday night instead of Tony Romo.

Chip on the difference between college and pros | The MMQB with Peter King.
I think this was a smart take on the differences between college and pro football from Chip Kelly: "The difference between college and the pros is that every single week is a challenge. You can look at some of the games you’ve played in college and you may hype them up that way. But in the back of your mind you know what the outcome of the game will be before it’s played because there is such a big discrepancy. In this league there is no discrepancy. You’ve got to come to play every week. The team that executes the best usually ends up the team that’s on top. But in terms of a surprise, nothing that’s really come out that’s been like, Well, I didn’t think that was ever going to be that way." Finally, a college coach admits he knew he was going to beat Norfolk State 66-3.

Video: ‘Santa’ interrupts Chip Kelly’s news conference - Andrew Kulp, The700Level
It’s not often Santa comes off looking like a dope. "Santa Claus" decided to drop in on Chip Kelly’s day-after press conference on Monday to give the Philadelphia Eagles an early present, tell a corny joke or two and let everybody know that Nick Foles is his quarterback for the next 1,000 years, too. In case you didn’t get the reference, that’s FOX 29’s / 94 WIP’s Howard Eskin under the costume, and if you want a super serious take on this all-important matter, I think it was poor form to promise the coach an Eagles win over Dallas is Week 17 for Christmas.
