NFL Playoff Picture 2013: Eagles and Cowboys to Face Off in Week 17 Battle for the NFC East Crown

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

The Washington Redskins were no help to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

Had Washington been able to pull off an upset victory over the Cowboys, the Eagles would have had the chance to clinch the NFC East with a win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday Night Football. Now, with the Cowboys winning, the result of the Eagles' SNF game is virtually meaningless. No matter if the Eagles win or lose tonight, next week's Eagles-Cowboys game will decide the winner of the NFC East.

Earlier in the week, Eagles coach Chip Kelly said he plans to play the starters against the Bears even if they can't clinch the NFC East with a win. Expect Philadelphia's starters to be active and ready on SNF.

The Cowboys victory certainly puts a damper on this week, but it sets up the potential for a great season finale in Dallas. And if the Cowboys look as terrible as they have recently, it's hard not to feel good about the Eagles' chances.

Thanks for nothing, LolSkins.
