Bruce Arians and the Cardinals Fall Victim to Chip Kelly's "College Offense" - BLG, BGN
Kelly wouldn't take issue to Arians's comments, though. Especially after a 24-21 Eagles win over the Cardinals on Sunday. The Eagles' "college offense" played well overall in the team's victory, especially when the opponent's tough defense is accounted for. In their last four wins, Arizona's highly rated defense was allowing a mere 15.5 points per game. The Eagles put up 24. The Cards defense was allowing 260 yards per game (206 passing, 54 rushing). The Eagles gained 307 yards (202 passing, 105 rushing).

The MVP of the Universe Award: Donnie Jones
The Cardinals had 13 drives today, all of them beginning on their end of the field. Here was their starting field position on each drive: 26, 20, 11, 12, 43, 22, 22, 20, 17, 11, 16, 14, 10. That's an average starting field position of the 18.8 yard line. The Cardinals don't have the kind of offense that is going to drive the length of the field very often and score touchdowns, so field position against that kind of team is huge. Jones had 7 punts inside the 20 yard line. No touchbacks. Tremendous. Donnie Jones... You sir, are why cavemen painted on walls.
Happy, But Not Satisfied - Tommy Lawlor, Iggles Blitz
The Eagles are 7-5. They are 6-2 in the last 8 games. The defense hasn’t let anyone score more than 21 points in that stretch. The QB has the highest rating in the NFL. Life is pretty good. There are still concerns. But that’s okay. We knew all along this was a flawed football team. Chip Kelly wasn’t going to come in here and solve everything all at once. And let’s consider the problem right now…the Eagles are able to build big leads, but not sustain them. All in all, that’s a good problem for a first year coach.

Later, Chung drilled Cary Williams. Chung is not just bad at football, he’s bad for his teammates’ health. Get well soon, Earl Wolff.

When the Arizona Cardinals lost 24-21 to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, the score clearly said who won. However, a look at the stat sheet tells a different story. The Cardinals should have won that game, based on the numbers. Arizona had 24 first downs compared to Philly's 23. They outgained the Eagles 350-307. They did better on third down (33 percent to 31 percent). Both teams gave up five sacks. The defense gave up only 79 yards to LeSean McCoy. Overall, they allowed 105 yards, but only 3.1 yards per carry. Rashard Mendenhall matched McCoy yard for yard. Mendy had 17 carries for 78 yards, while McCoy had 79 on 18 carries. But looking a little further, you will see why they lost. The main thing? The turnover battle.

Trent Cole and Brandon Graham were supposed to compose an imposing defensive end combo that would deliver the Eagles a Super Bowl-caliber pass rush. Things haven’t exactly gone by design since the team drafted Graham with the 13th pick in 2010 and paired him with Cole, a two-time Pro Bowler. But on Sunday, in the Eagles' 24-21 win over the Cards at the Linc, Graham and Cole delivered the kind of tag-team pass rush that fans have waited almost four years to see.
Big Calls (And Non-Calls) Help Eagles Late - Tim McManus, Birds 24/7
With just a few minutes left in the game and the Eagles nursing a three-point lead, Foles dropped back on 2nd-and-7 from the Eagles 34 and faced immediate pressure. He had a defender draped all over him but decided to try and force a throw to DeSean Jackson anyway. Bad choice. Patrick Peterson picked off the errant pass and had the Cardinals set up in Philadelphia territory for the possible go-ahead drive. But as the dust settled, sitting on the ground alongside all the fallen players was a yellow flag. Tyrann Mathieu had been caught holding Jason Avant, negating the play. Foles’ streak remained intact and, more importantly, the Eagles retained possession. That was one of several critical plays down the stretch that hinged on a referee’s call (or non-call).
