Eagles Injury Report: Earl Wolff Returns, Brandon Boykin Not Practicing

David Butler II-US PRESSWIRE

The Eagles' Wednesday injury report features three players who did not participate in practice. Besides that, everyone was full go.

Brandon Boykin is the most significant Eagles' injury to recognize. He is still sidelined with a concussion injury. Boykin has to pass mandatory concussion testing before he is cleared to return. Boykin's value to the team as the kickoff return and slot cornerback is crucial.

Other injuries in the Eagles' secondary include those to Colt Anderson and Kurt Coleman. Both are depth players at safety but contribute on special teams. On Tuesday, Bill Davis described Anderson as "week to week". If that's any indication, his status seems to be in serious question. Coleman is day to day. The Eagles made a roster move on Tuesday to add depth to their secondary. Rookie practice squad safety Keelan Johnson was signed to the active roster. This is probably not a good sign for the playing chances of Anderson and Coleman.

Elsewhere, Earl Wolff is on track to return this Sunday against the Chicago Bears. Wolff told the media on Tuesday he was "pretty sure" he would play. On Wednesday, Woflf was a full participant in practice. He said he expected to his knee to feel sore, but it actually felt better and was able to do more than he thought he could. That seems like a positive sign for a banged up Eagles secondary.

Linebacker Najee Goode seems to be ready to make his return this week as well. His addition is crucial to a special teams unit that might be missing players such as Anderson and Coleman. Speaking of special teams, returner/gunner Brad Smith was added to the injury report with a hamstring injury but was listed a full participant.
