The Philadelphia Eagles officially announced their December 22nd game against the Chicago Bears in Week 16 has been flexed to Sunday Night Football. Kickoff is now scheduled for 8:30 PM EST. The game will be aired on NBC. The contest was previously scheduled for a 1 PM EST start. Patriots-Ravens was originally scheduled for SNF in Week 16.
Eagles-Bears will mark the first time the Eagles have played on Sunday Night Football all year. Otherwise, they weren't even scheduled to play on Sunday night. The Eagles have played two prime time games this year: a Monday Night Football victory over the Redskins in Week 1, and a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday Night Football in Week 3.
This game marks the Eagles' final regular season game at home for the year. It also figures to be a good contest with the Chicago Bears now standing at 7-6 and the Eagles having won five games in a row to advance to 8-5. The Bears are still fighting for the NFC North lead while the Eagles will be looking to maintain their NFC East lead. In fact, the Eagles have the opportunity to clinch a playoff spot with a win over Chicago if the Dallas Cowboys manage to lose at least one of their next two games (Packers, @Redskins) and the Eagles win their next two (@Vikings, Bears).
The Eagles are a very hot team that's caught the nation's attention. They will be on full display on the national stage in a very important game.
