Nick Foles named NFC Offensive Player of the Week

Easy choice.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

There was little doubt Foles would be named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for ninth week of the NFL season, but now it's official.

Foles was simply spectacular in the Eagles' 49-20 win over the Raiders. The second year quarterback threw for 7 touchdowns and 431 yards on 22/28 passing. He had more touchdowns than incompletions and a perfect QB rating of 158.3. Foles became one of six other QBs in NFL history to finish a game with 7 TD. Had Chip Kelly not pulled the starters early in the fourth quarter, Foles probably would have been able to break the record.

It's the second time this year Foles has won this award. His performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6 also earned him NFC PoW honors. Foles is the third QB in Eagles history to be named Player of Week multiple times in same season. Donovan McNabb accomplished this feat in 2000 and Michael Vick did the same in 2010. Other non-QB Eagles to win the award twice in a single season include: Reggie White, Jerome Brown, Seth Joyner, Eric Allen, David Akers, Sean Landeta, DeSean Jackson.

Foles' gear from the game is actually being sent to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. Good on you, Nick.
