Eagles vs. Redskins 2013: Game Predictions

How are you feeling about this one?

Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports

Time to prove it.

That's the theme I outlined in this week's Eagles-Redskins preview. It's time for the Eagles to show if they're serious about winning the NFC East. It's also time to prove they can win a game at home.

This game really has the makings of a shoot out. Philadelphia's offense looks potent and it certainly helps that Nick Foles is playing well at the reigns. Chip Kelly's mouth is watering at the chance to put up points on a Redskins defense that ranks in the bottom five of the NFL.

On defense, the Eagles will face a bigger challenge. Running back Alfred Morris is on a hot streak. The Eagles run defense can be solid, especially with players such as DeMeco Ryans, Trent Cole, and Cedric Thornton excelling in this area. The other challenge is the injuries. The Eagles will definitely be missing Earl Wolff, but could also be without Mychal Kendricks and Bradley Fletcher. Can the bend-but-not-break mentality continue for the Eagles' "D"?

It should be a fun one. It's an important game. Washington is desperately trying to salvage their season. Philadelphia is ready to prove themselves as legitimate division contenders. Or are they?

Time to prove it.
