Practice Squad News: Eagles release Marcus Burley, sign B.J. Cunningham

The Eagles re-signed recently released WR B.J. Cunningham to their practice squad.

John Geliebter-USA TODAY Sports

The Eagles made a minor practice squad change on Thursday morning. Cornerback Marcus Burley was released and replaced by wide receiver B.J. Cunningham. Cunningham was released by the team on Tuesday when they decided to sign veteran KR/WR Brad Smith.

It's clear the team has some interest level in Cunningham moving forward. He spent all of 2012 on the practice squad and entered training camp with the team before suffering a foot injury that caused him to be waived with an injury settlement..

This move gives the Eagles a total of eight wide receivers on the practice squad (2) and full roster (6) combined.

The Eagles' practice squad now looks like this:

DE Brandon Bair
OT Michael Bamiro
WR B.J. Cunningham
TE Emil Igwenagu
S Keelan Johnson
QB G.J. Kinne
OLB Travis Long
WR Will Murphy
