It's official: Michael Vick has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders. The Eagles quarterback was never expected to play due to a hamstring injury. The returning Nick Foles will officially start in his place. Rookie Matt Barkley will be the backup QB. TE James Casey is the emergency quarterback.
Elsewhere on the injury report, WR DeSean Jackson is listed as probable. Jackson tweaked his ankle in Wednesday's practice but seems to be OK. Cedric Thornton is listed as probable, which is good news. He was marked as questionable entering the Giants' game last week but managed to play anyway.
Patrick Chung is listed as questionable despite being a full participant in practice this week. It will be interesting to see if he makes his return. Damaris Johnson is also questionable. If Johnson can't play, someone will need to fill his role as punt returner and kick returner. DeSean would probably be the one to field punts, and perhaps Brandon Boykin would be the backup kick returner. Special teams contributor Casey Matthews was limited in practice all week.
Jake Knott is doubtful to play. Emmanuel Acho will fill Knott's backup/special teams role.
