Eagles vs. Raiders Fantasy Football Guide

Josh Collacchi takes a look at this week's Eagles game and the fantasy outlook for the game.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The last two games has been the worst in Chip Kelly's football career with zero offensive touchdowns. The only touchdown the Eagles have scored was because the Giants long snapper soared a snap over Steve Weatherford's head for a special teams touchdown. This week the Eagles face the Oakland Raiders, who can cause havoc on offense with Terrelle Pryor and the read-option, but the Raiders defense is not among the league's best. Then again, neither were the Giants or Cowboys. The Eagles need to get their offense back in sync, and return to the top of the league as far as yardage is concerned, for fantasy purposes and for our sanity.

The Raiders have a few players who should be starters for the week in fantasy. Terrelle Pryor is a top tier bye week replacement this week, especially for owners who are losing Peyton Manning or Matthew Stafford to bye weeks. Darren McFadden is a viable RB2 this week, and is a good start whenever he is healthy. Denarius Moore is also a very good bye week replacement should you have any Denver receivers.

Here are the fantasy matchups for this week's game, the number next to the ranking indicates the projected rank for this week. A QB1 is expected to be in the upper echelon of scoring quarterbacks, and should be the best QB on your roster for the given week. A RB2 is the second best RB on your roster. A WR3 is the third best, etc. Anyone with a 3 in their rank are good plays at the flex position.

At the moment, there is no word on who the Eagles quarterback is for this week, but it likely will not be MIchael Vick. Whoever starts between Matt Barkely or Nick Foles should only be used in dire circumstances in fantasy – QB3

Terrelle Pryor – QB2 (Top tier bye-week replacement)

LeSean McCoy – RB1

Darren McFadden – RB2

LeSean McCoy is a must start every single week, despite his lack of production over the past few games. McFadden is a good start this week against the surprisingly good Eagles run defense, who are allowing just under 100 yards per game. McFadden scored two touchdowns last week, and should find the pay dirt again.

DeSean Jackson – WR2

Denarius Moore – WR3

Jackson should be a top tier start at wide receiver every week, but with the Eagles offense sputtering, and inconsistent quarterback play, Jackson is a WR2 for this week. Denarius Moore should have a good day against the Eagles putrid secondary and is a good FLEX play this week.

Riley Cooper – WR4

Rod Streater – WR3

Riley Cooper should not be on many fantasy teams, and is best used as a run blocker. If DeSean Jackson can't produce, how is Riley Cooper going to? Temple's own Rod Streater has been a staple for Terrelle Pryor on third downs this season, and given the Eagles poor third and long defense, Streater may be worth a FLEX play in deep leagues this week.

Brent Celek – TE3

Mychal Rivera – TE3

Neither Rivera or Celek should be starting for you in fantasy football, but if you need a tight end desperately, Celek may be able to get a few catches. The waiver wire will likely help you out more this week.

Alex Henery – K2

Sebastian Janikowski – K1

Alex Henery does not seem to have the confidence of Chip Kelly, and the offense is not moving the ball enough to give him any legitimate opportunities. Janikowski has been one of the better kickers in the last decade and is a must start because he will have many opportunities this week against an Eagles defense who will allow the ball to be moved down field.

Eagles Defense/Special Teams – DST2

Raiders Defense/Special Teams – DST2

Neither defense should be a top tier start any week, but since the Eagles offense is out of sync at the moment, the Raiders defense may be in line for a decent game. If you need a defense from the waiver wire this week, you could do a lot worse than Oakland.
