When the Eagles traded NT Isaac Sopoaga to the Patriots before the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday, they left an open spot on their 53 man roster unfilled. The Eagles still haven't announced any signings, so the spot remains open.
It was reported earlier by Reuben Frank that the player the Eagles hope to bring in is a cornerback. This makes sense because the Eagles are thin at that position. Cary Williams and Bradley Fletcher are the starters on the outside, while Brandon Boykin plays in the slot. The only depth cornerback is Roc Carmichael, a player the Eagles signed off the Texans' practice squad earlier this season. Rookie CB Marcus Burley remains a member of the team's practice squad.
The Eagles worked out CB Trevin Wade in the meantime as they search for a player to add. Wade was drafted out of the University of Arizona by the Cleveland Browns with a 7th round pick in 2012. The Browns cut Wade when they made final cuts prior to this season.
