The Eagles are giving up 446.8 yards per game. That is dead last in the NFL. They are on pace to give up 7148 yards this season. The NFL’s all-time worst defense, yardage-wise, was the 2012 Saints, who gave up 7042 yards. Previously, the worst defensive season for yards allowed belonged to the ‘81 Colts, who allowed 6793 yards.

Why would Kelly "waste" the defensive talent like this? He feels the 3-4 is the way to go. He could have spent this year trying to put a better defense on the field, but then next year the players would have had the very same issues as they moved to the 3-4. I don’t like Kelly’s defensive choice, but I do agree that it was wise to make the move now.

Offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur met with the media before practice late Tuesday morning to answer questions about the offense’s performance in the past two games after such a blistering start to the season. Play in the red zone, where the team has scored just five touchdowns in 12 opportunities, has crept up again as an issue after plaguing the Eagles offense in 2012. Following Sunday’s loss to the Denver Broncos, head coach Chip Kelly pointed to "penalties and drops" as the main culprits, and Shurmur sought to expand on those red zone struggles.

20. Philadelphia Eagles (Last Week #18):
The Eagles lost pretty bad to the Broncos Sunday. But from our comments above about the Broncos, you really can't drop the Eagles too much for it. I think most teams will experience the same fate when they play Peyton & the Broncos this season. Now the Eagles play the struggling Giants, so it will be interesting to see if they can get back in the win column with another divisional win.
