Interesting matchup: Good Eagles offense vs. good Bucs defense. Bad Bucs offense vs. bad Eagles defense.
I feel like the Eagles are going to move the ball on pretty much anyone they face. It's really just a matter of whether or not they can punch it in once they get in close instead of settling for 3 too often. However, I think the Bucs will struggle to move the ball with 3rd round rookie QB Mike Glennon. Glennon demonstrated a great deep ball at the Senior Bowl in Alabama in January, so that is something the Eagles will be need to be mindful of. They should be content to let the Bucs dink and dunk their way down the field, waiting for them to make a mistake.

You could start to see some of Bill Davis’ ideas come to life. He didn’t want to give up big plays. The Eagles gave up a 49-yard pass early on, but that’s it. After that, they forced the Giants to throw short and intermediate. In the KC game, the Eagles did this, but couldn’t tackle so the strategy failed. The Eagles did a solid job of tackling in this game. There were some bad plays, but the Giants weren’t able to march up and down the field at will. When the Giants had the slant pass working, they moved the ball well. That’s one area where Davis must get the CBs, LBs and Safeties to do a better job, in terms of coverage and tackling.

Mike Glennon became the starting quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quicker than anyone could have expected. Selected in the third round, 73rd overall, of the 2013 NFL Draft, the North Carolina State product replaced the struggling (since released) Josh Freeman – who was at odds with head coach Greg Schiano – after just three games and has taken the reins as the team’s leader on offense. Glennon will play the second game of his NFL career on Sunday against the Eagles – a team that thought highly of him during the pre-draft evaluation process.

Through four-and-a-half games, Michael Vick kept the ball on read-option plays eight times. But he made defenses pay when they didn’t account for him, picking up 122 yards (15.3 YPC). Keeping that in mind, the big question this week is: How will the run game change if Nick Foles is the quarterback?

Fifty Shades of Red Zone. The Eagles are second in the league in yards per game (454.8) and third in first downs per game (23.6), but only eighth in scoring (27.0). That’s because they can’t score touchdowns when they’re inside the 20. They’re 30th in the league in red-zone efficiency with just 7 TDs in 17 opportunities (41.2 percent). With a defense that is giving up 27 points per game, that’s not going to cut it.

It sure seemed like the Eagles were catching a break when I first saw Tampa Bay on the schedule. The Buccaneers will be searching for their first win of the season on Sunday. They’re mostly in the news these days because of a messy divorce with their former franchise quarterback. From an outsider’s perspective, they appear to be dysfunctional both on and off the field. But as it turns out, the Bucs aren’t as feeble as their record would have you believe, so don’t go marking a W on your oversized Miller Lite Eagles schedule just yet. Going on the road to face a team coming off of a bye is always dangerous, but a team that is probably feeling a bit desperate and disrespected these days? Look out.

It has not been a great season for Cooper, who has eight receptions for 93 yards and a touchdown. When pressed about his play, Chip Kelly and offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur have regularly defended Cooper’s performance and noted what a good blocker he is on the outside.

While the final two years of McNabb’s career in Washington and in Minnesota were certainly forgettable, his first 11 years with the Eagles were quite memorable.
